| NOTES | Hollow ice cube 20g; Cooling system – AIR or WATER (Art.51311U) |
PS series ice makers, fully manufactured from stainless steel, are equipped with a built-in storage bin and provide high ice production capacity.
Cooling system – water or air.
Hollow ice cube 20 gr
An ice maker that produces hollow cubes continuously for bars, restaurants and event services. The machine forms each cube around a set of vertical evaporator fingers, freezing water from the outside in. This method creates a dense, slow-melting cube that keeps drinks clear and presentations crisp without diluting flavours or distorting shapes.
Water circulates over the evaporator fingers in a thin film, freezing layer by layer until the cube reaches the programmed weight. A harvest cycle then warms the fingers just enough to release the cube into the storage container below. The process repeats automatically, drawing fresh water from the supply and ejecting finished cubes until the container is full or the machine is switched off.
To start, connect the water inlet and drain, plug the unit into a 230 V single-phase circuit, and set the desired ice thickness. The machine fills the reservoir, begins freezing, and continues until the 50 kg container is full. A sensor stops production when the container reaches capacity, preventing overflow. When cubes are removed, the cycle resumes automatically.
The body is constructed from stainless steel panels over a galvanised frame. The evaporator fingers are made of nickel-plated copper for efficient heat transfer and resistance to corrosion from hard water. A removable front panel gives access to the water distribution system and evaporator for cleaning and descaling.
Controls consist of an on-off switch, a harvest button for manual defrost, and an indicator light that shows when the container is full. A second light signals when the water supply is low or the drain is blocked.
A capacity of 119-123 kg per 24 hours means the machine can supply a busy bar or restaurant throughout service without running empty. The 50 kg container holds enough cubes for peak demand, reducing the need for frequent emptying. An 80 kg weight allows two people to move the unit into position without a trolley, while the 843 mm width fits through standard doorways and under most worktops. The refrigerant R290 is a hydrocarbon with low global-warming potential, chosen for its efficiency in small to medium ice makers.
Cleaning involves removing the front panel, brushing the evaporator fingers to clear scale, flushing the water distribution system with a descaling solution, and wiping the interior with a food-safe sanitiser. The process is repeated every two to four weeks, depending on water hardness and usage.
Two cooling options are available: air-cooled for locations with good ventilation, and water-cooled for enclosed or high-temperature environments. The water-cooled version uses a separate condenser that connects to a continuous water supply and drain.
The PS122 A/W is listed in the catalogue under Commercial Refrigeration, Ice Makers, and Bar Equipment.
