Small Countertop Display Cases

A small countertop display case is one of the most effective investments for a café or small shop – it increases product visibility, stimulates impulse purchases and ensures hygienic display of food and confectionery. Its compact size fits almost any countertop configuration. BHS offers small display cases for various HoReCa applications in Europe.

Types of small display cases and temperature systems

Hot countertop display cases – heat maintenance at 30–90°C, ideal for pastries, sandwiches and hot snacks at fuel stations and cafés. Cold display cases – cooling at +2–+8°C for confectionery, sweets and chilled products. Neutral display cases without temperature control – for bread, biscuits and dry confectionery. Impulse Display Cases – designed primarily for spontaneous purchases, with an attractive design and highly visible product presentation. Combined display cases – several temperature zones in one unit for different product ranges. LED lighting in all versions improves product visibility, visual appeal and stimulates impulse purchases among customers.

Sizes and installation

Countertop display cases are typically 30–60 cm wide and 25–40 cm deep – suitable for most café and fuel station countertops. Height depends on the model – from 30 cm mini versions to 60 cm classic display cases. Some models feature sliding doors at the back for easier restocking from the staff side. The customer-side glass is protected from direct finger contact for hygiene. BHS helps select the right size and configuration to match countertop space and products.

HACCP requirements for compact display cases

Even small countertop display cases must comply with HACCP temperature requirements – hot above +63°C, cold below +4°C. Regular temperature checks and cleaning after each shift are mandatory. The display case glass and metal surfaces must be cleaned with food-safe disinfectants. Products must be arranged so they do not touch the glass on the customer side. The internal shelves of the display case must be removed and washed in a machine at least once a week. BHS offers display cases made from HACCP compliant materials that are easy to maintain.

HoReCa application scenarios

In a café near the till – a compact cold display case with cakes, muffins and fresh desserts for impulse purchases. At a fuel station countertop area – a hot display case with hot dogs, sandwiches and warm pastries. In a patisserie – a cold display case with cream cakes at precise temperatures to maintain freshness. In a shop with a confectionery and sweets section – a neutral or cold display case for various confectionery and treats. BHS helps choose the most suitable compact countertop display case model for each HoReCa application, product type and countertop configuration in Europe.
