Metal furniture in professional kitchens and HoReCa spaces is not only an aesthetic but also a functional and hygienic solution. Stainless steel — the main material for kitchen furniture — does not absorb odours, withstands intensive chemical cleaning, is bacteriostatic and practically does not wear out. Metal furniture lasts for decades, reducing the costs of repeated purchases. BHS designs and manufactures metal furniture for HoReCa businesses.

Types of metal furniture

Kitchen work tables — stainless steel tables with AISI 304 or 316 surface, with or without under-shelves and drawers. Available in standard sizes or custom-made according to the kitchen layout. Bar counters and service counters — modular or individually designed metal counters for equipping bars, restaurants and service points. Furniture for the kitchen zone — counters for waste sorting, dishwashing counters, pass-through windows for dishes. Laundry equipment — dishwashing counters, pre-wash zone tables, holders for dirty dishes. Wall shelves and holders — wall-mounted bracket shelves for kitchens, pot, lid, knife and utensil holders. Mobile elements — trolleys, cabinets and custom mobile kitchen equipment. BHS manufactures all these types of furniture.

HACCP requirements for metal kitchens

In professional kitchens, HACCP standards require surfaces made of stainless steel or other non-absorbent, easily disinfected materials. AISI 304 stainless steel is the standard — it withstands intensive cleaning with chemical agents, cannot absorb odours and is not a breeding ground for microorganisms. Metal furniture must be designed without gaps and hard-to-clean recesses — the Food Authority checks these elements during sanitary inspections. Furniture legs with adjustable levellers allow compensating for uneven floors and leave space under the furniture that can be cleaned. BHS designs HACCP compliant metal furniture.

HoReCa usage scenarios

In a new restaurant kitchen, BHS designs a complete set of stainless steel furniture — chef’s work tables, cutting zones, pass-through windows for dishes and a mobile meat processing table with custom shelves. In a café, a bar counter configuration with a built-in refrigerated compartment, cup holders and equipment brackets based on the bartender’s workflow analysis. In a hotel dining room, a service counter system with heating elements and special equipment according to the establishment’s service concept. In a food production facility, AISI 316 stainless steel processing tables meet the highest HACCP requirements.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AISI 304 and AISI 316? AISI 304 is standard stainless steel with 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Suitable for most kitchen furniture. AISI 316 contains an additional 2–3% molybdenum, providing higher corrosion resistance in acidic or salty environments. Recommended for fish and seafood processing or industrial food production facilities. BHS helps choose the appropriate steel grade based on the application.

Can I order just one piece of furniture or is a full set required? BHS manufactures both individual pieces of furniture (for example, a single work table to precise dimensions) and complete kitchen furniture sets. For smaller quantities, the unit price is higher, but BHS has no set minimum order quantity.
