Projects and Custom Solutions section — stainless steel furniture and equipment manufactured to individual order for a specific space and processes. The category includes: non-standard worktables, non-standard extraction hoods, stainless steel cabinets and shelves and other custom solutions. Non-standard solutions are necessary when a space has columns, load-bearing walls, an irregular layout or specific technological requirements that standard catalogue products do not meet. Each project begins with measuring the space and analysing the workflow — the result is a drawing that the customer approves before production starts. Stainless steel ensures compliance with HACCP hygiene requirements and withstands intensive use. Production usually takes 3–6 weeks. BHS manufactures non-standard equipment for HoReCa businesses.
Non-standard solutions are a BHS service that allows HoReCa businesses to obtain exactly the equipment they need when catalogue products are unsuitable for a specific space or process. Each project is unique — from kitchens with non-standard column layouts to compact bars with irregular floor plans. BHS develops, designs and manufactures such solutions.
Standard catalogue products suit typical conditions. However, many HoReCa spaces are not typical — they have load-bearing columns, sloping ceilings, non-standard openings or technological cut-outs. A standard table or shelf in such a situation will either not fit or create areas unsuitable for use. A non-standard solution means that the equipment is designed specifically for that space — every centimetre is taken into account. The result is full use of the space and an optimal workflow, rather than a compromise between what is needed and what is available.
The non-standard order process begins with a consultation and measuring the space. After obtaining the measurements, a drawing or 3D visualisation is developed, which the customer approves. Once approved, production starts — cutting, welding and processing stainless steel sheets according to the order. The average lead time is 3–6 weeks, depending on complexity.
HACCP requirements must also be met for non-standard solutions. BHS designs furniture to comply with sanitary standards. Stainless steel is the primary material — disinfectable, corrosion-resistant in wet environments and able to withstand food acids and chemicals. Non-standard elements are designed to avoid hard-to-clean surfaces — rounded corners and uniform welds ensure complete hygienic processing. This ensures that custom-made equipment is as hygienic as a standard product.
The BHS non-standard solutions range includes several product lines. Kitchen worktables — custom sizes, shapes and equipment. Refrigerated worktables — combined work surface and cooling unit in specific dimensions. Furniture for dishwashing areas — equipment tailored to the configuration of the dishwashing space. Serving lines — individually designed combinations of cold, hot and neutral zones. Each solution starts with an analysis and ends with an installed, tested product.
How long does it take to complete a non-standard order? It depends on complexity, but usually 3–6 weeks from order approval to delivery. Consultation and drawing approval typically take 1–2 weeks.
Can I order just one item or is a set required? You can order just one item — for example, only a non-standard worktable or a wall shelf. BHS has no minimum order requirement for non-standard products.
Stainless steel is the only acceptable material for professional kitchen equipment. BHS non-standard products use the same steel quality standard as catalogue products. Metal thickness is chosen according to the load — usually 1,2–1,5 mm for work surfaces, thicker for the frame. Welds are rounded and polished to prevent dirt build-up and facilitate disinfection. After manufacturing, each item is checked — for compliance with the drawing, symmetry and surface quality. Steel surfaces can be polished or matte, according to the customer’s preference and hygiene requirements. This material and manufacturing quality ensures that a non-standard item will last as long as a standard product from the catalogue.
