ICE TECH SC SPLIT ice makers produce dry ice flakes. The ice has an attractive appearance — the flat flakes overlap and slide over each other, ensuring long-lasting cooling. This type of ice is suitable for a wide range of applications: fishing industry, seaports, fish wholesale and markets, supermarkets, fishmongers, butchers, bakeries, pastry shops, retail markets, and construction.
ICE TECH SC SPLIT ice makers must be connected to a central refrigeration system or remote condensing unit. For operation, the installer will require a KVP valve, which is not included.
Ice flakes.
An ice maker designed for continuous, high-volume production of flake ice connects to an external refrigeration system, eliminating the need for a built-in compressor or condenser. The evaporator chills a static cylinder, freezing water into a thin layer of ice that a milling mechanism then shaves into flakes without rotating joints or mechanical strain. This method ensures consistent ice quality, lower operating costs and reliable performance under heavy workloads. The adjustable thickness of the flakes—from 1.5 mm to 3 mm—allows the same machine to cool fish rapidly, chill salad bars evenly or present seafood attractively on display.
The operator sets the desired ice thickness on the control panel, starts the unit and monitors the water level through the sight glass. A magnetic water pump circulates water across the evaporator surface, while sensors detect low water, motor overload and a full bin, stopping production automatically to prevent damage or overflow. Ice exits through a 480 mm diameter chute directly into storage or onto the product, ready for immediate use.
Construction centres on a stainless-steel base that supports the static evaporator cylinder, milling mechanism and direct-drive gear motor. The electrical panel houses the frequency converter that adjusts ice thickness, a solenoid valve controlling water flow and the electronic stop system. A soleplate distributes weight evenly, while the split-system design keeps the unit compact and lightweight, reducing both footprint and noise in the working area.
A 5.5 kW power rating reflects the load on the electrical supply, requiring a dedicated 230 V single-phase circuit. The 170 kg weight indicates a unit that can be moved with a pallet truck but is intended for permanent installation. The 1050 × 750 × 870 mm footprint shows the space it occupies on the floor, leaving clearance for the 480 mm ice chute and service access.
Cleaning involves flushing the water circuit to remove mineral deposits, wiping the stainless-steel surfaces with food-safe sanitiser and checking the milling mechanism for wear. The low-water-level safety device and full-bin sensor simplify daily upkeep by preventing damage from dry running or overfilling.
The SC1TN SPLIT model is part of the ICE TECH SC Split range, designed for connection to external refrigeration systems. It fits environments such as fish processing plants, supermarkets, cold rooms and industrial production lines where continuous ice supply is critical.
