Ice generator ICE TECH 50184

The ICE TECH GR series ice maker, manufactured from durable stainless steel, produces naturally shaped granular ice, providing an optimal solution for preserving product freshness over a longer period of time. It is suitable for a wide range of applications – fresh food displays in supermarkets, restaurants, seafood storage, as well as use in laboratories, healthcare, and other industries.

The “GR Split” version allows the cooling/compressor unit to be installed separately, making it suitable for locations with limited workspace or where specific cooling/ventilation requirements must be met. The cooling unit can be purchased separately.

An ice maker that produces granular ice continuously for bars, restaurants and display counters. The GR 850 SPLIT from ICE TECH forms small, soft granules slightly below 0 °C, each containing a controlled amount of residual water. The machine works by circulating refrigerant through a closed system. A compressor pressurises the gas, raising its temperature. The hot gas then passes through a condenser where it releases heat and condenses into a liquid. This liquid refrigerant moves to an expansion valve, where it rapidly depressurises and cools. The cold refrigerant then flows through an evaporator coil inside the ice-making chamber. Water is sprayed or dripped onto the coil, freezing into thin layers that are scraped off as granular ice. The cycle repeats continuously, allowing the unit to produce ice around the clock. To operate the GR 850 SPLIT, connect it to a water supply and a 230 V electrical circuit. Set the desired ice production programme using the controls on the front panel. The machine will start automatically, filling the modular container with granular ice. When the container is full, the unit pauses production until ice is removed. The separate cooling unit, sold as an optional extra, must be installed nearby to maintain the refrigerant cycle. Granular ice slides effortlessly off the seamless stainless-steel surfaces, keeping the machine free from mineral build-up and ready for the next rush of cocktail orders. The exterior dimensions of 525 mm wide, 410 mm deep and 815 mm high allow the unit to fit under most worktops or on a sturdy shelf. At 88 kg, the machine can be moved by two people using a trolley, but it is not designed for frequent relocation. Controls on the front panel include an on-off switch, a production mode selector and an indicator light that shows when the machine is actively making ice. A separate warning light alerts the operator if the water supply is interrupted or if the refrigerant pressure falls outside the safe range. The 230 V single-phase supply matches the standard circuit found in British commercial kitchens, so no special wiring is required. The R290 refrigerant is a hydrocarbon with low global warming potential, complying with current environmental regulations. The 580 kg daily capacity means the machine can serve a busy bar or a medium-sized restaurant without needing constant refills. Cleaning involves emptying the ice container, wiping down the interior surfaces with a mild sanitiser and descaling the water system periodically. The stainless steel exterior can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. The separate cooling unit requires occasional dusting of the condenser fins to maintain efficient heat exchange. The GR 850 SPLIT is a modular model, meaning it does not include a built-in storage bin. Operators must provide their own container or purchase a compatible bin separately. The optional cooling unit, article RCU 30, must be ordered to complete the refrigerant circuit. This ice maker is categorised under professional refrigeration equipment for bars, restaurants and display counters.
