A room service trolley is one of the numerous appliances used in the room service 3-, 4- and 5-star hotels that offer their guests meals served in their rooms. Room service heaters are placed on them and then connected to the power supply to maintain a constant temperature of meals before serving them to guests
A room service trolley carries heated meal boxes from the kitchen to guest rooms without losing temperature. The unit itself does not heat; instead, each shelf provides power sockets so that insulated hot boxes can be plugged in and kept warm during transit. The low, stable base and swivel castors allow the trolley to navigate corridors, lifts and doorways while the shelves remain level, preventing spills or tipping.
The operator loads the hot boxes onto the shelves, connects each one to the power sockets, and wheels the trolley to the guest floor. Once outside the room, the trolley is parked, the brakes are applied, and the hot boxes are unplugged and delivered. The same sequence in reverse returns the empty boxes to the kitchen.
The frame and shelves are made of stainless steel for hygiene and durability. Four 100 mm castors—two with brakes—support the trolley, allowing it to be moved easily and then locked in place. The overall dimensions of 1220 mm long, 550 mm wide and 1763 mm high fit standard hotel service lifts and corridors.
Each shelf is fitted with two 230 V sockets, enabling multiple hot boxes to be powered simultaneously. The voltage matches the standard UK single-phase supply, so no special circuit is required.
Cleaning is straightforward: the stainless steel surfaces can be wiped down with sanitiser, and the castors can be removed for thorough cleaning if needed. The trolley is supplied as a single unit with no variants or accessories listed.
