Electric cooktop with 6 cast iron hotplates, featuring a stainless steel construction and a locking system.
This electric hob delivers heat directly to cookware via elements positioned under each plate. The cast-iron surfaces ensure consistent heat distribution, enabling accurate temperature management. Without open flames, the design minimises fire hazards and eases ventilation requirements in enclosed kitchen areas.
The unit features six plates, each controlled by a rotary switch offering seven power levels. A built-in thermal limiter automatically cuts power if a plate becomes too hot. After switching off, a residual-heat indicator light warns that the surface remains hot. Adjustable legs allow the hob to sit level on uneven floors, while a rear splash guard shields the wall from grease and liquids.
Constructed from 18/10 stainless steel, the hob resists corrosion and staining in damp kitchen conditions. The 1 mm thick worktop has rounded edges and a satin finish to reduce glare and conceal minor scratches. Chrome-plated trim and control knobs meet IPX5 standards, permitting safe cleaning with water jets. A locking mechanism secures the hob to nearby units or worktops, preventing unintended movement.
Each knob adjusts the power of one plate, ranging from gentle simmer to rapid boil. The 400 V three-phase connection supplies a total of 21 kW, split equally across the six elements. This voltage necessitates a dedicated circuit in commercial kitchens. The hob measures 1200 mm in width and 900 mm in depth, fitting a standard 90 cm worktop cut-out. Weighing 94 kg, it remains stable but requires two people or equipment for installation.
Maintenance involves wiping stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Once cool, the cast-iron plates can be cleaned with a non-abrasive pad, and the splash guard detaches for thorough cleaning. Control knobs can be removed for access to the switches, and the legs retract to allow floor cleaning beneath the unit.
The PCT-912ET is listed in the LOTUS professional range, suitable for restaurants, hotels, and catering kitchens needing multiple high-power cooking zones.
