Electric range with a ceramic cooking surface (750 × 570 mm)
An electric ceramic cooktop transfers heat through a smooth, glass-ceramic surface that sits above electric heating elements. The elements warm the ceramic, which then conducts heat directly to pots and pans placed on top. This method gives even, controllable heat without open flames, making it safer and easier to clean than traditional hobs.
To use the LOTUS PCCT-78ET, place cookware on one of the four cooking zones. Turn the water-resistant control knob for the chosen zone to set the power level. The switch activates the element, and the temperature limiter prevents overheating. Residual heat indicators light up while the zone is hot, even after the element is switched off, warning staff not to touch the surface. Once cooking is complete, turn the knob to zero and remove the cookware. The cooktop can be left to cool or cleaned immediately if no residual heat remains.
The cooktop is built from CrNi 18/10 AISI 304 stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite satin finish. The 2 mm thick worktop has rounded edges, chrome-plated components and a rear splashback. IPX5-rated control knobs resist water ingress, and adjustable feet allow the unit to be levelled on uneven floors. A fixing system secures the cooktop to the work surface.
The 10 kW power rating means the cooktop draws a significant load, requiring a dedicated three-phase 400 V circuit in a professional kitchen. The 800x705 mm footprint fits standard worktop depths, while the 280 mm height allows under-counter installation. At 62 kg, the unit is heavy enough to remain stable during use but may need two people to lift safely.
Cleaning involves wiping the glass-ceramic surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent once it has cooled. The stainless steel body can be cleaned with standard kitchen stainless steel cleaners, avoiding abrasive pads that could damage the satin finish. The rear splashback protects the wall from splashes, reducing daily cleaning time.
The PCCT-78ET is a single model with four cooking zones and no additional variants.
