Freezer base with drawers is recognised by users in many countries mainly due to its reliability, aesthetics and robust construction. It is an excellent solution for commercial kitchens. The storage time depends on the type of product. r
A freezer base that slides under a worktop or counter, keeping frozen goods at a steady deep-freeze temperature while leaving the work surface above clear for food preparation. The unit chills the air inside with a forced-air refrigeration system. A fan draws warm air over an evaporator coil, where the refrigerant absorbs the heat and carries it away. The cooled air is then circulated back into the cabinet, dropping the temperature evenly across every drawer. Because the air moves continuously, the freezer can hold its set point even when the kitchen is warm or the door is opened frequently. To use the freezer, the operator pulls out one of the full-extension drawers, loads the goods, and closes the drawer. The digital control panel on the front lets the user set the desired temperature between -20 °C and -10 °C. The display shows the current temperature inside the cabinet. When frost builds up on the evaporator, the unit can defrost automatically or the operator can start a manual defrost cycle. Any water from melting frost is collected and evaporated automatically, so no tray needs emptying. The cabinet is built from stainless steel, inside and out. Three drawers run on full-extension slides, each sealed with a removable magnetic gasket. The legs are round and height-adjustable, allowing the unit to sit level on uneven floors. The overall footprint is 1600 mm wide, 905 mm deep and 600 mm high, fitting under most standard worktops. A power rating of 0.6 kW indicates the load the freezer will place on the electrical supply. It runs on a 230 V single-phase circuit with neutral and earth, the standard supply for most professional kitchens. The 180 litre volume gives the internal space for bulk frozen goods, while the forced-air system keeps the temperature uniform across all three drawers. The seamless stainless-steel cabinet lets you wipe spills straight into the full-extension drawers without snagging edges or corners. The magnetic drawer gaskets can be removed for thorough cleaning and replaced without tools. The automatic defrost and drip-water evaporation reduce the need for manual maintenance, but the evaporator coil should be checked periodically for dust build-up that could reduce cooling efficiency. The unit is designed to operate in ambient temperatures up to +30 °C, making it suitable for most commercial kitchens without additional cooling. This model is a freezer base, part of the BHS-G under-counter refrigeration range.
