Temperature mode +2/ +12 °C
A refrigerated display counter keeps chilled goods visible and accessible while maintaining a steady low temperature. A compressor circulates refrigerant through a coil, pulling heat from the air inside the cabinet. A fan then blows the cooled air across the shelves, ensuring an even temperature throughout the unit. This ventilated cooling cycle prevents warm spots and keeps food safe without freezing it, making it suitable for ready-to-eat items, dairy, and packaged salads.
The operator loads the two adjustable wire shelves with products, then sets the desired temperature between 2 °C and 12 °C using the control panel. The internal LED light switches on automatically when the door is opened, illuminating the contents for customers. Adjustable feet allow the unit to be levelled on uneven floors, ensuring the door seals properly and the cooling remains efficient.
The UPD60 is constructed with double glazing on all four sides, providing clear visibility while reducing heat transfer. The frame and interior are finished in black, with a glass door that opens to the front. Two wire shelves, each 315 mm by 341 mm, support the products without blocking airflow. The ventilated cooling system is housed in the base, keeping the footprint compact at 428 mm wide, 386 mm deep, and 855 mm high.
The control panel allows the operator to set the temperature within the 2 °C to 12 °C range, which covers the safe storage of most chilled foods. The 0.164 kW power rating indicates a modest electrical load, suitable for a standard 220–240 V, 50 Hz circuit found in professional kitchens. The 60 L gross volume provides space for approximately two shelves of small packaged items, while the 58 L net volume accounts for the internal fittings. At 38 kg, the unit can be moved by two people or with a sack trolley, though its adjustable feet are designed for permanent placement.
Cleaning involves wiping the wire shelves and interior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The glass door and panels should be cleaned with a glass cleaner to maintain visibility. The ventilated cooling system requires periodic vacuuming of the condenser coil at the base to prevent dust build-up, which can reduce efficiency. The LED light does not generate heat, so it does not affect the cooling performance and rarely needs replacement.
The UPD60 is available in either grey or black finishes. It is categorised as a counter-top refrigerated display unit for chilled goods in the TEFCOLD professional range.
