A minerals and chlorine filter treats the water supply before it reaches an ice machine, removing dissolved solids and chemicals that would otherwise cloud the ice, shorten equipment life or alter flavour. The filter contains activated carbon and a sediment cartridge; water passes through both stages under mains pressure, leaving contaminants trapped on the media while clean water continues to the machine.

The ICE TECH XL TWIN CS112 is a dual-cartridge filter designed for high-volume ice production. Water enters the inlet, flows through the first 5-micron sediment cartridge to catch fine particles, then through the activated carbon block to adsorb chlorine and organic compounds. The two cartridges sit side by side in a single housing, allowing continuous filtration without interrupting the ice-making cycle.

Installation follows the water line: the inlet connects to the mains supply, the outlet to the ice machine. Once the cartridges are seated and the housing sealed, the unit operates on mains pressure alone. No power or additional pumps are required. The operator monitors the pressure gauge and replaces the cartridges when the differential rises, typically every three to six months depending on water quality and usage.

The housing is constructed from food-grade plastic, resistant to corrosion and chlorine degradation. The cartridges are sealed units; once exhausted they are discarded and replaced with new ones. No internal cleaning is needed beyond flushing the housing during cartridge change.

The 5-micron rating means the filter captures particles larger than five thousandths of a millimetre, including sediment, rust and scale that could clog the ice machine's evaporator or water distribution system. Removing chlorine also prevents the plastic taste that can develop when the chemical reacts with the ice surface.

The XL TWIN CS112 is a direct replacement for compatible ICE TECH and selected third-party ice machines. It fits models that specify a dual-cartridge filter of matching dimensions and connection type.
