| NOTES | Granular dry ice; Cooling system – AIR or WATER (Art. 50103U) |
CD series ice makers, fully manufactured from stainless steel, are equipped with a built-in storage bin and provide high ice production capacity. CD series ice makers produce Diamond Ice type extra-dry granular ice with naturally shaped pieces and a soft, chewable texture.
Cooling system – water or air.
Granular (Diamond) dry ice.
This professional ice maker delivers a steady supply of granular dry ice for bars, restaurants, and events. The CD55 A/W creates small, diamond-shaped granules with around 20% moisture content. This ensures slower melting, keeping drinks colder for longer while preserving their flavour and appearance without dilution.
The machine operates by freezing water in an enclosed evaporator chamber. A refrigerant coil cools the chamber walls below freezing, forming tiny ice granules. These are then released into the storage container, ready for immediate use. The process repeats automatically, maintaining a consistent ice supply without manual input.
To start, connect the unit to a 230 V single-phase power supply and fill the water reservoir. Choose between air or water cooling, then switch on. Ice production begins immediately, collecting in the 20 kg container. Once full, the machine pauses until ice is removed, then resumes automatically. No further adjustments are required during normal operation.
Constructed with a stainless-steel evaporator and a robust plastic exterior, the CD55 A/W uses R290 refrigerant, known for its low environmental impact. The unit measures 465 mm wide, 595 mm deep, and 790 mm high, making it suitable for under-counter or shelf placement. Weighing 58 kg, it can be moved by two people or on a trolley but is not intended for frequent relocation.
Controls include a power switch and a mode selector for air or water cooling. With a power rating of 0.679 kW, it imposes a modest load on electrical circuits, fitting well in most commercial kitchens without needing a dedicated line.
With a daily output of 55 to 58 kg, the machine meets the demands of busy venues. The 20 kg container allows staff to retrieve ice in practical batches. Its compact 465 by 595 mm footprint leaves ample space for other equipment on worktops or counters.
Maintenance involves emptying the container, wiping the interior with a mild sanitiser, and rinsing the water reservoir weekly. The evaporator and refrigerant coil require professional servicing every six months to ensure efficiency and hygiene.
Two cooling options are available: air-cooled (standard) or water-cooled (article 50103U). The choice depends on the installation environment and available water supply.
