ICE TECH SC COMPACT ice makers produce dry flake ice. Thanks to the flat flakes, the ice evenly covers products and maintains the required temperature for a long time. These ice generators are ideal for a wide range of industries. ICE TECH SC COMPACT models already include a built-in compressor and condenser, making them fully autonomous units. Simply connect water and electricity, and the machine is ready to operate.
Ice flakes.
An ice maker that produces cold, dry flake ice continuously without an external refrigeration system. A horizontal evaporator drum freezes a thin film of water into brittle flakes that break off and slide down a chute. The thickness of each flake can be set between 1.5 mm and 3 mm, so the ice cools quickly, clings to surfaces and melts slowly, keeping food at a stable temperature without pooling water.
The operator connects a water supply and a 400 V three-phase electrical circuit, then starts the machine. Water is pumped onto the rotating drum, freezes, and is scraped off as flakes. The flakes fall through a 480 mm diameter exit into a storage bin or directly onto the product. Sensors monitor water level, motor load and bin capacity, stopping production automatically if any limit is reached. An electronic panel displays status and allows thickness adjustment.
The unit is built on a stainless-steel base and houses its own compressor and condenser, so no separate cooling plant is needed. A direct-drive gear motor turns the drum, and a magnetic water pump circulates water without seals that could wear or leak. The entire assembly is enclosed in a steel cabinet measuring 1420 mm wide, 1785 mm deep and 1447 mm high, weighing 490 kg. This footprint and weight mean the machine must be placed on a solid floor with enough clearance for the 480 mm ice chute and for heat dissipation at the rear.
The 8.25 kW power rating requires a dedicated three-phase circuit capable of supplying the starting current of the compressor. A 400 V 50 Hz three-phase supply is standard for professional catering equipment in the UK, so the unit plugs into the same distribution board as other heavy-duty appliances. The 1500 kg daily capacity is measured under standard conditions and will vary with water temperature, ambient temperature and ice thickness setting.
Cleaning involves draining the water system, wiping the evaporator drum and flushing the pump and pipes to remove mineral deposits. The stainless-steel base and sealed components reduce corrosion, but regular descaling is needed where water hardness is high. The magnetic pump and direct-drive motor have no brushes or belts, so maintenance is limited to sensor checks and occasional lubrication of bearings.
The SC1.5TN COMPACT is one model in the ICE TECH SC COMPACT series, which offers different daily capacities in the same footprint. All models share the same autonomous design, adjustable ice thickness and built-in safety systems.
