WOJTEK ice cream showcase. Temperature mode -20ºC / -10ºC
An ice-cream showcase keeps frozen desserts at serving consistency by circulating cold air continuously around the product. The WOJTEK model uses dynamic cooling: a fan draws air across an evaporator coil, lowering its temperature before pushing it evenly through the cabinet. This method prevents hot spots and ice crystals, so every scoop stays smooth and creamy without manual stirring.
To operate the showcase, the operator first selects the desired temperature between -20 and -10 °C on the electronic scale. The unit then starts automatically, maintaining the set point with the built-in thermostat. The curved front glass opens to load stainless steel containers filled with ice cream; these sit on adjustable shelves finished in silver or gold. LED confectionery lighting illuminates the product from above, while an interior advertising light panel highlights branding or flavours. Automatic defrosting cycles clear frost from the evaporator without manual intervention, ensuring consistent performance throughout the day.
The cabinet measures 1710 mm wide, 835 mm deep and 1230 mm high, giving a generous display area for multiple flavours. A stainless steel worktop provides a hygienic surface for serving, and the entire structure is insulated with environmentally friendly polyurethane foam to minimise energy use. Wood trim and front panels are available in a range of colours from the BHS palette, allowing the showcase to match the kitchen's decor.
Power consumption is rated at 16.1 kWh per 24 hours, reflecting the load needed to hold temperatures as low as -20 °C in a busy environment. The unit runs on a standard 230 V single-phase supply, making it compatible with typical commercial circuits. Stainless steel shelves and containers resist corrosion and are easy to sanitise, while the USB temperature recorder logs performance data for quality control.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces with a mild detergent, removing the shelves to wash them separately, and occasionally dusting the LED fixtures. The curved glass should be cleaned with a non-abrasive cloth to maintain clarity. Colour choices for trim, front panel and arched side panels are all drawn from the BHS palette, offering coordinated finishes across the entire showcase.
