Ice-cream dispenser GELATO 1150 mm, Temperature range -20ºC/-10ºC
An ice-cream dispenser built for pozzetti balls keeps gelato at serving consistency without freezing it solid. The GELATO 2 uses a piston-type compressor and R290 refrigerant to pull heat from the stainless-steel cuvettes. A layer of organic polyurethane foam between the inner and outer walls slows heat transfer, so the unit holds temperatures between -20 °C and -10 °C without constant cycling. The compressor is sized to match the volume of the cuvettes, giving steady cooling without overworking the motor.
The operator loads each 7 L round cuvette with prepared gelato, slides it into the worktop opening, and closes the flat insulated cover. An electronic controller with a digital display sets the target temperature for the whole unit or for individual rows. Once the temperature is reached, the gelato stays soft enough to scoop but cold enough to keep its shape. Masking rings around each opening hide the gap between the cuvette and the worktop, giving a seamless look. When the condenser needs cleaning, a tool-less panel opens for access.
The work surface is made of polished stainless steel with openings for 6, 8 or 10 cuvettes. Each row can hold two cuvettes, and the extra space allows one row to run at a different temperature if needed. Internal tubes made of stainless steel contain two additional cuvettes, increasing capacity without enlarging the footprint. The plinth and all visible parts are also stainless steel, polished to resist fingerprints and spills.
A power rating of 0.408 kW shows the load on the circuit; the unit plugs into a standard 230 V, 50 Hz outlet. The adjustable feet (±10 mm) level the dispenser on uneven floors, and the audible alarm sounds when the condenser is clogged, prompting maintenance before cooling efficiency drops.
Cleaning follows from the construction: the flat covers lift off for wiping, the masking rings remove without tools, and the tool-less condenser access lets the operator clear dust from the coils. The polished stainless steel surfaces wipe clean with a damp cloth, and the organic polyurethane foam insulation does not absorb moisture or odours.
The GELATO 2 is available in 6, 8 or 10 cuvette versions, each with the same 1150 mm worktop. The colour can be chosen from the IGLOO pattern book, and the standard plug-in design requires no hard-wiring.
In the catalogue, the GELATO 2 sits under professional refrigeration for gelato and soft-serve, distinct from blast freezers or display cabinets.
