| NOTES | motor with speed regulator + 40 cm stick blender |
An immersion blender lets the operator blend, purée or emulsify directly in the cooking vessel, eliminating transfers and reducing washing. The motor drives a blade at the end of a long shaft; the shaft is lowered into the liquid, and the blade rotates at high speed, drawing the contents towards it and breaking them into a smooth mixture. Variable speed control adjusts the intensity of the blending, allowing gentle stirring for fragile sauces or vigorous pulverising for soups and batters.
The MX42 is held by the motor housing and lowered into the pot or container. The operator selects the desired speed with the regulator, then starts the motor. The 40 cm blending arm reaches deep into tall stockpots or narrow containers without splashing. Speed is adjusted while the motor runs, so the consistency can be fine-tuned without stopping. When blending is complete, the motor is switched off and the arm lifted clear.
The motor housing is constructed from impact-resistant plastic, and the blending arm is stainless steel. A speed regulator on the housing sets the rotation rate between 2500 and 11000 rpm. The unit operates on a 230 V single-phase supply, the standard circuit in British commercial kitchens. The footprint of 155 mm by 120 mm allows it to be stored in a standard utensil drawer or hung on a wall bracket. The total length of 790 mm, including the blending arm, gives the reach needed for deep containers.
After use, the blending arm is detached and washed in hot water with detergent. The motor housing is wiped with a damp cloth; it must never be immersed. The speed regulator and switch are kept dry to prevent electrical faults.
The MX42 is listed in the FIMAR catalogue under immersion blenders, handheld mixers and kitchen prep equipment.
