This immersion blender allows direct work in the food container, cutting down on transfers and cleaning. A motor powers a blade at the end of a long shaft, spinning at adjustable speeds to create a vortex that pulls ingredients into the blade. Speed control lets the user tailor the intensity, whether for gentle emulsification or vigorous chopping, all without moving food to another appliance.
The MX40 is operated by holding the handle and lowering the shaft into the pot, pan or bowl. The speed regulator allows selection of the desired intensity before starting the motor. The shaft length keeps the motor clear of hot liquids and large batches. A whip attachment can replace the standard blade for whipping cream, egg whites or batters directly in the mixing bowl.
The blender features a motor housing made of impact-resistant plastic and a stainless-steel shaft and blade. The speed regulator is a rotary dial on the handle, offering continuous adjustment between the lowest and highest speeds.
A power rating of 0.4 kW indicates the load on the electrical circuit. The voltage requirement of 230 V matches the UK single-phase supply. The overall length of 790 mm, including the shaft, allows access to the bottom of deep stock pots without leaning over hot surfaces. The unit's compact footprint of 155 mm by 120 mm saves space on worktops or shelves.
Cleaning involves rinsing the shaft and blade under running water immediately after use to prevent food residue hardening. The plastic housing can be wiped with a damp cloth; immersion in water is not advised. The whip attachment is cleaned in the same way as the shaft.
The MX40 comes with the shaft and a whip attachment.
