Electric cooktop with 4 cast iron hotplates, featuring a stainless steel construction and a locking system.
An electric hob heats pans by conduction from cast-iron plates that convert electrical energy into controlled heat. The plates reach temperature quickly and hold it evenly across their surface, allowing precise adjustment of cooking power without open flames or gas lines. Each plate is independently switched and regulated, so multiple dishes can be cooked at once without heat from one affecting the others.
The operator places a pan on the chosen plate, turns the selector switch to the desired power setting and starts cooking. A temperature limiter prevents overheating, while a residual heat indicator warns when the plate is still hot after use. Adjustable feet level the hob on uneven floors, and locking stops on the tray runners keep pans steady during stirring or lifting.
The PCT-66ETX is built from 18/10 CrNi stainless steel with a 1 mm thick worktop that resists dents and corrosion. Rounded edges and a satin Scotch-Brite finish reduce glare and make cleaning easier. Chrome-plated components and a splash guard protect the front and sides from spills, while IPX5-rated water-resistant knobs allow safe wipe-downs without electrical risk.
The 7 kW power rating requires a 400 V three-phase supply, typical of professional kitchens with high electrical demand. The 600 mm width matches standard worktop depths and fits between cupboards or under extractor hoods. At 27 kg, the hob is light enough to move with two people but stable once positioned. The locking system secures the unit during transport or when not in use.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, avoiding abrasives that could scratch the satin finish. Cast-iron plates should be cooled before cleaning to prevent warping, and sealing rings checked periodically for wear. The splash guard and chrome trim can be removed for thorough cleaning if needed.
The PCT-66ETX is a built-in model designed for integration into stainless steel worktops or worktops in commercial kitchens.
