A refrigerated display showcase that keeps chilled products visible and accessible while maintaining a steady temperature between 2 and 8 °C. The unit uses a remote condensing system: the compressor and condenser sit away from the display, so the only part on the sales floor is the sleek glass-fronted cabinet. This arrangement cuts noise and heat in the shopping area, leaving more space for customers and stock.

Inside, a fan circulates cold air evenly across every shelf. The air is cooled by an evaporator coil hidden behind the back panel, and the temperature is held steady by an electronic regulator that adjusts the cooling cycle automatically. When frost builds up on the coil, an automatic defrost programme melts it without manual intervention, so the showcase stays at the set temperature without interruption.

The operator loads the shelves from the front, arranging products so they face customers. Each shelf can be raised, lowered or tilted to highlight different items, and price strips clip onto the front edge. The top of the unit and each shelf are lit by LED strips; the colour can be chosen to match the store's branding or the product range. A painted-steel lower shelf provides extra storage or display space, while the main shelves are made of powder-coated steel for durability and easy cleaning.

The cabinet measures 1880 mm wide, 970 mm deep and 1165 mm high, giving a large display area within a compact footprint. It runs on a 230 V single-phase supply, the standard circuit in British retail premises. The insulation is ecological polyurethane foam, which keeps the cold in and the running costs down.

Cleaning is straightforward: the shelves lift out, the price strips unclip, and the painted and powder-coated surfaces wipe clean with a damp cloth. The automatic defrost system means there is no ice to chip away, and the remote condenser reduces the need for maintenance around the display itself.

The Proxima Slim Open 1.88 m is designed for retail environments such as supermarkets, convenience stores and forecourts, where open-fronted display is preferred for self-service. The remote condensing unit allows the showcase to be installed in tight spaces without compromising performance.
