Professional wine refrigerator with double-glazed walls, forced air circulation and LED lighting, designed for wine storage and display. The unit is equipped with electronic control, a digital display, an energy-saving function and electric defrost.
A professional wine refrigerator built for intensive use in restaurants, hotels and bars, where bottles must be stored at precise temperatures and displayed to best effect. The unit maintains a stable climate inside, shielding wine from temperature swings and humidity that can spoil flavour and ageing potential. Wine refrigerators of this type circulate chilled air continuously through the cabinet. A compressor drives refrigerant through coils, pulling heat from the interior and expelling it at the back. The cooled air is then forced evenly across every shelf by a fan, so that every bottle experiences the same temperature. Because wine is sensitive to vibration, the compressor is mounted on rubber pads and the cabinet is lined with insulation that dampens noise and movement. The air gap in the double-glazed doors and walls, filled with argon, further slows heat transfer from the room, while heated frames prevent condensation that could damage labels or corrode metal. To load the refrigerator, the operator slides open the hinged glass doors. Bottles are placed horizontally on the shelves or hung from the optional hooks, keeping corks moist and airtight. The digital control panel on the front sets the target temperature between +4 °C and +18 °C, and the unit then maintains it automatically. An electric defrost cycle runs periodically, melting any ice that forms on the coils; the water evaporates on its own, so no tray needs emptying. LED strips along the top and sides of the interior light the bottles evenly, making labels easy to read without casting shadows or warming the wine. The cabinet is built from stainless steel inside and out, with a black exterior finish. The doors are double-glazed, with argon-filled cavities and heated frames. The compressor and refrigeration system sit in a removable top section, which is delivered separately to simplify transport and installation. Shelves and bottle hooks are ordered separately and arrive disassembled. The control panel features a digital display and electronic controls. One button sets the temperature, another activates energy-saving mode, and a third starts a manual defrost if needed. The display shows the current temperature and alerts the operator to any faults. A capacity of 1307 litres allows storage of several hundred bottles, depending on size and orientation. The 1697 mm width and 2300 mm height fit through standard commercial doorways when the top section is removed. The 490 kg weight requires a sturdy floor and a trolley for moving. The 220-240 V power supply plugs into a standard single-phase circuit, drawing 2.295 kW when the compressor runs. The refrigerant is R290, a hydrocarbon with low global-warming potential. The unit is rated for climate class 5, meaning it operates reliably in ambient temperatures up to +40 °C and 40% relative humidity. The seamless stainless steel lining resists smudges and spills, letting you wipe away fingerprints or drips between service rushes without interrupting the chilled airflow around every bottle. The LED strips can be dusted with a soft brush. The removable top section allows access to the compressor and coils for occasional deeper cleaning. The electric defrost system eliminates the need to manually scrape ice, but the drainage path should be checked periodically to ensure it remains clear. A 60 Hz version with a 2.41 kW compressor and R290 refrigerant is available as a separate article. The refrigerator is listed in the FAGOR professional refrigeration catalogue under wine storage and display equipment.
