A bar refrigerator keeps bottled and canned drinks chilled by circulating cold air with a fan. The fan draws air over an evaporator coil cooled by refrigerant, spreading an even temperature throughout the cabinet. This method chills drinks faster and more uniformly than static cooling, so every bottle or can reaches the same serving temperature regardless of position on the shelf.

The operator loads drinks onto the five wire shelves, each sized to hold rows of 330 ml or 500 ml cans and bottles. Once the door is closed, the thermostat maintains the set temperature between +2 °C and +10 °C. LED lighting in the door frame switches on automatically when the door opens, illuminating the contents without adding heat. The fan runs continuously to keep the air moving, ensuring consistent cooling across all shelves.

The cabinet is constructed from coated steel with a black finish inside and out. Five wire shelves, also black, provide adjustable storage at 490 mm by 360 mm each. The refrigerant used is R600a, a hydrocarbon with a low environmental impact.

Controls consist of a thermostat dial that sets the desired temperature within the +2 °C to +10 °C range. The unit operates on a 220–240 V, 50 Hz electrical supply, drawing 0.295 kW during normal use.

A 347 L volume allows storage of up to 455 x 330 ml cans, 301 x 500 ml cans, 217 x 330 ml bottles or 217 x 500 ml PET bottles. The external dimensions of 595 mm width, 640 mm depth and 1840 mm height determine the floor space required. A weight of 75 kg indicates the unit can be moved with a standard sack trolley but will need two people to lift safely.

Cleaning involves wiping the interior and wire shelves with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The black finish reduces visible marks, while the fan-cooled design minimises frost build-up, so defrosting is not required. Shelves can be removed for easier access during cleaning.
