Instruction

A potato peeler machine removes skins from root vegetables and tubers by tumbling them against an abrasive surface. The drum rotates, pressing the potatoes against a rough disc or cylinder. This action scrapes away the outer layer without cutting into the flesh, leaving the peeled product ready for trimming or cooking. The method is faster and more consistent than hand peeling, especially for large batches, and reduces waste by preserving more of the edible portion.

To operate the FIMAR PPF/18M, open the transparent polycarbonate lid and load up to 18 kg of potatoes or other root vegetables. Close the lid to engage the safety microswitch, then set the timer for the required peeling duration, up to four minutes. Start the machine; the drum will rotate, pressing the vegetables against the removable abrasive disc. When the timer expires, press the unloading button to release the peeled product through the discharge chute. An automatic water jet rinses the drum during operation, keeping the abrasive surface clear and reducing manual cleaning.

The machine is built with a stainless steel body for durability and hygiene in a busy kitchen. The transparent lid allows the operator to monitor progress without opening the drum. A removable abrasive disc (PTA type) is included, suitable for loads from 5 to 18 kg. The side abrasive is not fitted on this model, which simplifies maintenance and reduces the risk of damage to delicate produce.

Controls include a timer that sets the peeling cycle from 0 to 4 minutes, a safety microswitch that stops the drum when the lid is opened, and an unloading button that releases the product at the end of the cycle. The voltage requirement of 230/400 V allows the machine to run on a standard single-phase or three-phase kitchen circuit, depending on the supply available.

The capacity of 18 kg determines the batch size the machine can handle at once, making it suitable for medium to large kitchens. The footprint of 830 mm by 530 mm fits on a worktop or a sturdy stand, while the height of 950 mm allows the operator to load and unload without bending. The weight of 38 kg means the unit should be positioned on a stable surface or fixed in place to prevent movement during operation.

Cleaning is straightforward: the automatic water jet rinses the drum during use, and the removable abrasive disc can be taken out for thorough washing. The stainless steel body and polycarbonate lid are wiped down after each use to maintain hygiene. The included tray collects the peelings, making disposal easier.

The PPF/18M is part of FIMAR's range of vegetable preparation equipment, designed for professional kitchens that require consistent results and efficient workflows.
