Temperature mode +2/+6 SERVE OVER
A serve over display case keeps chilled food visible and accessible while maintaining safe temperatures. Cool air is circulated by a fan-driven ventilation system, drawing heat away from the interior and expelling it at the rear. The refrigeration cycle uses a compressor and evaporator coil to lower the air temperature, while automatic defrosting prevents ice build-up on the coil, ensuring consistent cooling without manual intervention. LED lighting illuminates the shelves from above and below, making products stand out without adding heat to the cabinet.
The Virginia 1000 is installed by dropping the unit into a prepared counter cut-out, leaving only the glass front and top exposed. Once connected to a 230 V supply, the electronic control unit is set to the desired temperature range of +2 to +6 °C. The rear sliding door allows access for restocking, while customers serve themselves from the front. Automatic defrosting and evaporation handle moisture removal, so the unit requires no daily defrosting routine.
The case is constructed in inox (stainless steel) with double tempered glass panels for durability and clarity. The 200 kg weight indicates a sturdy build, designed to remain in place once installed. Its 990 mm width and 743 mm depth fit standard worktop cut-outs, while the 1324 mm height provides three shelves for organised display. The ventilation cooling system ensures even temperature distribution across all levels, preventing hot spots that could compromise food safety.
Controls are managed through the electronic unit, which regulates temperature and defrost cycles. The LED lighting can be switched on or off as needed, adjusting brightness for different times of day or store lighting conditions. The rear sliding door simplifies access for staff, reducing the need to reach over displayed products.
The 0.57 kW power rating reflects the load on the electrical circuit, suitable for a standard 230 V single-phase supply found in most professional kitchens and retail spaces. The 200 kg weight means the unit is not moved frequently, so it should be positioned carefully during installation.
Cleaning involves wiping down the stainless steel surfaces and glass panels with a mild detergent. The automatic defrosting and evaporation system reduces manual maintenance, though the rear coil should be checked periodically for dust accumulation. The LED lighting requires no bulb replacement, as the fixtures are long-lasting and energy-efficient.
Two versions of the Virginia 1000 are available: a low model with two shelves (1094 mm height) and the standard three-shelf model (1324 mm height). This unit is the standard height, offering additional display space for higher-volume settings.
The Virginia 1000 is categorised under serve over refrigeration in the UNIS COOL professional catering equipment range, designed for retail and foodservice environments where presentation and accessibility are key.
