A refrigerated display case keeps delicate pastries, cakes and confections at a steady cool temperature while presenting them through clear glass. Cool air circulates continuously behind the scenes, drawn in at the base, chilled by an evaporator coil, and then pushed across the shelves by quiet fans. This closed-loop flow maintains the set temperature range without drying the food or creating hot spots. The refrigerant absorbs heat from the air inside and releases it outside the cabinet, so the desserts stay fresh and the glass remains condensation-free even when the shop is busy.
To load the showcase, the operator slides the rear door open, places trays or plates on the tempered-glass shelves, and closes the door. The hinged front glass panel can be lifted for quick restocking or cleaning. An electronic control unit lets the user set the desired temperature between +4 °C and +8 °C; once chosen, the system holds that level automatically. LED strips illuminate the interior, casting even light across every shelf so colours and textures stand out to customers. Automatic defrost cycles melt any frost on the coil, and the resulting water evaporates without manual intervention.
The cabinet is built around a double-walled frame of tempered glass that resists scratches and thermal shock. Shelves are also made of tempered glass, supported by adjustable brackets. A hinged front panel and a sliding rear door give full access for cleaning. The cooling system uses a blend of R1234YF and R290 refrigerants, circulated by a compressor rated at 0.569 kW. The unit plugs into a standard 230 V single-phase supply and weighs 207 kg, so it is moved on a trolley or pallet jack rather than carried by hand. Its footprint of 990 mm by 735 mm fits neatly on most bakery counters or shop worktops.
Cleaning is straightforward: the hinged front glass lifts out of the way, the shelves can be removed, and the interior surfaces are wiped down with a damp cloth. The automatic defrost and evaporation system eliminates the need to empty drip trays. Regular maintenance is limited to checking that the ventilation grilles remain unobstructed and that the door seals are intact.
The CUBE II 1000 Grab n Go is a self-service model designed for high-traffic environments such as bakeries, cafés and convenience stores. It is listed in the UNIS COOL catalogue under refrigerated display equipment for patisserie and grab-and-go items.
