The FIMAR LCN/5 is a mussel washer designed for professional kitchens. Its primary function is to efficiently clean mussels, removing sand and debris.

The operating principle of a mussel washer involves agitating the shellfish in water to loosen and wash away impurities. The FIMAR LCN/5 uses a rotating abrasive disc to scrub the mussels, while a water jet system helps to rinse away loosened particles. This mechanical action, combined with water flow, thorough cleaning.

The lid features a security microswitch, preventing operation unless it is securely closed. The user sets the cleaning duration using the adjustable timer, which can be set from 0 to 4 minutes. Once the cycle is complete, the cleaned mussels are unloaded using the dedicated button. An automatic water jet is integrated to assist with cleaning the machine itself after use, flushing out residues. Water used during the washing process drains directly into the sink.

Construction of the FIMAR LCN/5 includes a stainless steel body for durability and hygiene. The upper lid is made from transparent food-grade polycarbonate, allowing visual monitoring of the cleaning process. A removable brush disc, specified as an abrasive disc PPC, is included for the cleaning action.

A separate button is provided for unloading the product.
