Capacity: 2 bags for pizza boxes, Ø-40cm
A rigid steel box organises two thermal bags that keep 40 cm pizzas hot during delivery runs. The box mounts on a scooter or small vehicle, creating a secure, weatherproof compartment that prevents the bags from shifting or tipping while the vehicle moves.
The box itself does not heat or cool; it relies on the thermal insulation of the pizza bags placed inside. Once the bags are loaded with hot pizzas, the box shields them from wind, rain and road vibration, extending the time the pizzas stay at serving temperature. The lever-lock door closes with a single action, sealing the compartment so the bags cannot slide out or be exposed to outside air.
To use the box, the operator first fits the thermal bags inside. The bags sit side by side, each sized to hold a standard 40 cm pizza box. The operator then loads the pizzas into the bags, closes the bags, and shuts the box door with the lever. The box remains closed until the delivery is complete, when the operator opens the lever, removes the bags, and takes the pizzas to the customer.
The box is made of galvanised steel, which resists rust and stands up to outdoor conditions. The exterior dimensions of 510 mm wide, 520 mm deep and 500 mm high create a footprint that fits behind a scooter seat or on a small van rack. A fixing plate for mounting the box to the vehicle is not supplied; the operator must source a suitable bracket separately.
The lever-lock door secures the contents without tools or keys. The lock mechanism is built into the door frame, so the operator presses the lever down to close and lifts it to open.
The capacity of two somas refers to two thermal bags, each sized for one 40 cm pizza box. The box does not expand or collapse, so it holds exactly two bags and no more.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the steel surfaces with a damp cloth. The galvanised finish prevents corrosion, so no protective coating or polish is needed. The box should be stored dry to maintain the finish.
This box is categorised as transport equipment for professional catering, specifically for pizza delivery operations.
