Induction hob with a diameter of 400 mm and power of 8 kW. Dedicated for large pots of 50 to 100 l
An induction cooktop transfers energy directly into ferrous pots without heating the surface itself. A high-frequency electromagnetic field beneath the ceramic plate induces currents in the base of the pot, generating heat where it is needed. This method concentrates power into the vessel, reducing wasted energy and allowing rapid temperature changes. Because the plate stays relatively cool, spills do not burn on and cleaning is simpler than with a traditional hob.
The operator places a pot of 50 to 100 litres on the ceramic plate and selects one of nine power levels with the ergonomic knob. A pot-detection system senses the presence of a suitable vessel and activates the field only when the pot is in place, preventing accidental activation. The work-parameter display shows the current power setting and any active timers. Adjustable feet level the unit on uneven worktops, ensuring the pot sits flat and stable.
The cooktop is built on a stainless-steel frame with a robust ceramic plate that withstands the weight and thermal shock of large stockpots. An efficient cooling system beneath the plate prevents overheating during extended use, maintaining consistent performance even under continuous load.
The 8 kW power rating requires a 400 V three-phase supply, which is standard in professional kitchens equipped for heavy-duty appliances. The 600 mm square footprint fits into most worktop cut-outs designed for commercial hobs, while the 380 mm height keeps the cooking surface at a comfortable working level.
Cleaning involves wiping the ceramic plate after each use to remove spills before they cool and harden. The cooling system vents should be kept free of dust and grease to maintain airflow, and the adjustable feet should be checked periodically to ensure the unit remains level.
The cooktop is designed specifically for large pots of 50 to 100 litres, making it suitable for bulk cooking, stock preparation, and high-volume service.
This model is listed in the Stalgast professional catering catalogue under induction hobs for heavy-duty use.
