To use the basket, the operator loads raw food into it, lowers it into the preheated oil, and sets a timer. When the timer sounds, the basket is raised, allowing oil to drain before the food is tipped onto a tray or serving dish. The basket's size and shape are matched to the fryer vat, so it sits level and does not touch the sides or element.

This LOTUS Basket 1/2 is made of stainless steel, which resists corrosion from hot oil and repeated washing. The mesh is fine enough to hold small items like chips or prawns, while the rigid frame keeps its shape under the weight of heavier loads such as fillets or croquettes.

The dimensions of 140 mm deep, 330 mm wide and 120 mm high correspond to the internal size of the FME-15 fryer vat, ensuring a secure fit and consistent frying results. The basket's weight is light enough for easy handling, yet sturdy enough to avoid warping during use.

Cleaning follows from the materials: after each service, the basket is rinsed under hot water to remove food debris, then scrubbed with a non-abrasive brush to clear any oil residue from the mesh. It is dried before storage to prevent water spots or corrosion.
