A ceramic glass boiling hob transfers heat through radiant elements sealed beneath a smooth, tough glass surface. The elements glow when powered, heating the glass evenly so that pots and pans placed on top receive direct, consistent heat without hot spots. This method allows rapid temperature changes and precise control, making it suitable for delicate sauces as well as vigorous boiling or frying. The glass surface also simplifies cleaning and reduces the risk of food spills burning onto exposed coils.
To operate the PCCD-64ETX, the unit is first secured to the worktop using the supplied fixing system. The operator places a pot or pan on one of the radiant heat plates, then selects the desired heat level using the seven-position switch. A warning light illuminates when the plate is active and remains lit until the surface has cooled sufficiently to prevent accidental burns. The temperature limiter automatically cuts power if the plate overheats, protecting both the appliance and the food.
The hob is built from CrNi 18/10 AISI 304 grade stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite satin polish finish, including a 2 mm thick worktop and chromed details for corrosion resistance and durability. The ceramic glass top houses the radiant heat plates, each bordered by a steel seal to prevent liquids from seeping beneath the surface. Rolling racks are included to secure pots during use, preventing movement while stirring or lifting.
The 5 kW power rating requires a 400 V three-phase electrical supply, which is standard in professional kitchens for high-demand appliances. This voltage ensures the hob can maintain consistent heat output even under heavy use. The 400x600 mm footprint fits within a standard worktop cut-out, while the 50 mm height allows for easy integration beneath overhead cupboards or shelves. At 12 kg, the unit is light enough to be moved by two people but stable enough to remain in place during operation.
Cleaning involves wiping the ceramic glass surface with a damp cloth once it has cooled, as the smooth material prevents food from sticking. The stainless steel frame and worktop can be cleaned with mild detergent and water, avoiding abrasive pads that could damage the satin finish. The chromed details and steel seals should be dried after cleaning to prevent water spots.
The PCCD-64ETX is categorised as a professional electric boiling hob, designed for use in commercial kitchens, catering environments, and high-volume cooking settings.
