A cooling counter keeps ingredients chilled at the point of preparation, letting kitchen staff reach for dairy, meats, salads or desserts without leaving the worktop. The TEFCOLD CK7210/-SP circulates cold air with a fan behind the liner, pulling heat from the stored items and spreading an even temperature across every shelf. This ventilated system avoids the hot spots that still air can create, so every tray stays at the set level regardless of how often the door is opened during service.
The operator loads the two wire shelves with gastronorm trays or loose items, closes the self-closing doors and sets the electronic controller to the required temperature between -2 °C and +10 °C. The automatic defrost cycle runs without intervention, melting any ice that forms on the evaporator and draining the water away so the cooling remains efficient. When the kitchen layout changes, the removable tabletop can be lifted off, turning the unit into an undercounter cooler that fits beneath an existing work surface. The adjustable legs level the counter on uneven floors and set the working height to match the surrounding equipment.
The cabinet is built from stainless steel grade 304, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of cleaning in a busy kitchen. The two white wire shelves are sized to GN1/1, matching the standard gastronorm trays used across professional catering. The refrigerant is R600a, a hydrocarbon with low global warming potential. The 220-240 V, 50 Hz supply plugs into a standard single-phase circuit, and the 1.98 kWh consumption over 24 hours reflects the load on the kitchen's electrical system.
The 272 L volume gives space for multiple trays of prepped ingredients, while the 1360 mm width provides a generous worktop area for plating or holding tools. At 112 kg, the unit is moved with a trolley or two people, and the 700 mm depth fits between standard worktop runs without protruding into the aisle. The temperature range of -2 °C to +10 °C covers chilled storage for most fresh ingredients and some lightly frozen items, but it is not cold enough for deep freezing.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, removing the wire shelves to wash them separately, and occasionally vacuuming the condenser coil at the rear to maintain airflow. The automatic defrost system eliminates the need for manual defrosting, but the drain tube should be checked periodically to ensure it is clear.
The CK7210/-SP is a counter-height cooling unit with a removable tabletop, designed for front-of-house or back-of-house use in professional kitchens.
