A refrigerating chamber creates a controlled cold space by circulating refrigerant through concealed coils. The refrigerant absorbs heat from the air inside the chamber, lowering its temperature to the set range. Hot-gas defrosting reverses the cycle briefly, melting any ice that forms on the coils without manual intervention, so the unit stays at full efficiency between cleaning cycles.
The operator assembles the chamber by slotting modular panels together; no cutting or drilling is needed. Once the panels are in place, the cooling system is already embedded within them. The door is hung, the power connected, and the temperature set between 0 and 8 °C. Shelves, purchased separately, are positioned to organise stock. The chamber maintains the chosen temperature automatically, cycling the refrigerant as needed and running the defrost programme at intervals.
Panels are 80 mm thick, filled with insulation that keeps the interior cold while reducing the load on the compressor. The floor is made of anti-slip stainless steel, chosen for hygiene and durability in a busy kitchen. Each panel can be repositioned or replaced, allowing the chamber to be reconfigured if the kitchen layout changes.
The 1.865 kW power rating indicates the electrical load the chamber draws when the compressor runs. It connects to a standard 220-240 V single-phase supply, the common circuit in commercial kitchens. The 3.48 m³ volume provides space for bulk storage of perishable goods, while the 255 kg weight means the unit is moved on a pallet truck or with two people. The footprint of 1200 mm depth, 1800 mm width and 2200 mm height fits into a dedicated cold-storage area or a corner of the main kitchen.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel floor and any installed shelves with a food-safe sanitiser. The hot-gas defrost system eliminates the need to scrape ice from coils, but the drainage channel should be checked periodically to ensure condensate flows freely. Panels can be removed for deeper cleaning if required, and the insulation core is protected by the panel skin, so it does not absorb moisture or odours.
The chamber is supplied in modular form, with interchangeable panels and doors. Shelves are ordered separately to suit the operator's storage needs.
