A supermarket freezer that switches between freezing and chilled display without moving stock. The refrigeration circuit cools the air inside the cabinet, and a fan circulates it evenly across every shelf. When the thermostat calls for more cooling, the compressor starts and the refrigerant absorbs heat from the air, lowering the temperature to the set point. The system holds that temperature within a narrow band, so frozen goods stay solid and chilled goods stay just above freezing without ice crystals forming.

The operator loads the six wire baskets with products, sets the digital thermostat to either freezing or cooling mode, and slides the transparent lids closed. LED lighting inside the cabinet illuminates the contents, and the curved lids let customers see the products without opening the cabinet. The two temperature ranges cover frozen foods at -15 °C to -24 °C and chilled foods at +2 °C to +7 °C, so the same unit can hold ice cream, ready meals, dairy or deli items. The inner liner is coated white steel, and the baskets are strong wire with two dividers each for organised storage.

The freezer stands on four wheels, two of which lock to keep the unit in place. The exterior is dark grey, and the cabinet measures 1895 mm high, 830 mm wide and 795 mm deep. It plugs into a 220-240 V, 50 Hz supply, and the power rating of 4.82 kWh per 24 hours indicates the load it places on the circuit. The refrigerant is R290, a hydrocarbon with low global warming potential. The total volume is 430 L, and the weight of 100 kg allows the unit to be moved by two people.

Cleaning involves wiping the coated steel liner and wire baskets with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and checking that the wheels and brakes are free of debris. The transparent lids slide open for access to the interior, and the digital thermometer displays the current temperature for monitoring.
