Product Data Sheet

The TEFCOLD BLCA3X1 is a blast chiller freezer designed for rapid temperature reduction of food.

This appliance operates by extracting heat from food products at a significantly faster rate than a standard refrigerator or freezer. By rapidly lowering the core temperature of food, it inhibits bacterial growth, helping to maintain food safety and quality. The unit can perform both chilling and freezing cycles, transitioning food from a high temperature down to safe refrigeration or deep freezing levels.

The sequence of use involves placing food, typically in GN1/1 or Euronorm pans (guides are included), into the chamber. A core sensor can be inserted into the food to monitor its internal temperature. The operator then uses the touch screen controller to select the desired chilling or freezing programme via the programmable thermostat. The unit initiates the cycle, and once complete, the food is ready for storage. The reversible self-closing door allows for flexible installation and operation.

Constructed from stainless steel, the TEFCOLD BLCA3X1 is built for demanding kitchen environments. It features adjustable legs for levelling on uneven surfaces.

The touch screen controller provides an interface for setting programmes, while the programmable thermostat allows for precise temperature control. HACCP compliant data export is available, aiding in record keeping for food safety compliance.

The capacity of 3 GN1/1 pans indicates the volume of food that can be processed simultaneously. The power rating of 0.7 kW details the electrical load the unit places on the supply. Its dimensions of 804 mm in length, 826 mm in width, and 995 mm in height define its footprint. The temperature range extends from a maximum of 70 °C down to a minimum of -18 °C, covering both chilling and freezing capabilities. The 60 L volume refers to the internal usable space. The 230 V voltage is the standard electrical requirement. Weighing 104 kg, the unit has a substantial mass. The refrigerant used is R290, with a charge of 130 g.

In terms of performance, the unit can chill 12 kg of food from +70 °C to +3 °C within 90 minutes. It can also freeze 8 kg of food from +70 °C to -18 °C within 240 minutes.

Cleaning and upkeep would involve regular cleaning of the stainless steel interior and exterior surfaces, as well as the door seals and the chamber.
