An abrasive paper disk restores the cutting edge of grinder blades without removing the blade from the machine. The disk spins against the blade's surface, using fine grit to grind away microscopic nicks and restore a sharp, even edge. This method keeps the blade's original angle and profile, so the grinder slices cleanly and draws less current during use.
To use the disk, the operator fits it onto the grinder's sharpening hub, ensuring the grit side faces outward. The machine is switched on at low speed, and the blade is pressed lightly against the spinning disk for a few seconds. The operator inspects the edge and repeats the process until the blade is uniformly sharp. No lubricant is needed, and the disk itself sheds worn grit to expose fresh abrasive.
The FIMAR PTA disk is a flat, circular sheet of abrasive paper. It is thin enough to fit between the blade and the grinder's sharpening guard, yet rigid enough to stay flat under light pressure.
This disk is made for FIMAR grinders that carry the PPN-PPF 5-10-18 reference. It is sold individually and is replaced once the grit is visibly worn or the paper frays at the edges.
The catalogue lists it under spare parts for meat and food preparation equipment.
