A wine cooler maintains a steady, cool environment that slows the ageing of wine and preserves its flavours. It draws heat from the cabinet with a refrigeration cycle: a compressor circulates refrigerant through coils, pulling warmth from the air inside and releasing it outside. The cooled air is then distributed evenly by a quiet fan, ensuring every bottle rests at the same temperature. Unlike a domestic refrigerator, which is too cold and too dry, a wine cooler keeps humidity higher and avoids sudden temperature swings that can spoil the cork and the wine.
To use the WC361BE, slide the black Z-shaped shelves out and load up to 36 standard 75 cl bottles. Set the desired temperature between 5 °C and 20 °C on the digital touch panel; the cooler will reach and hold that level automatically. The LED side lighting can be switched on to display the collection, while the tinted triple-glazed door blocks ultraviolet light that would otherwise degrade the wine. When the door is opened, the soft-close mechanism brings it gently to rest without slamming.
The cabinet is built in black with a glass front and four black Z-shaped shelves that slide out fully for easy access. An activated carbon filter inside the cabinet keeps the air neutral and free from odours that could taint the wine. The compressor is an inverter type with vibration reduction, so it runs quietly and adjusts its speed to maintain the set temperature without frequent starts and stops.
The digital control panel allows precise temperature selection and displays the current setting. LED lighting illuminates the interior when needed, highlighting the bottles without generating heat.
A 145-litre volume provides space for 36 bottles, while the 595 mm width, 578 mm depth and 820 mm height fit under most worktops or stand alone in a dining area. The 47.5 kg weight means the unit can be moved by two people and positioned securely. A 220–240 V, 50 Hz power supply is standard for UK kitchens, and the 0.228 kWh daily energy use reflects the cooler's efficient operation at a steady temperature.
Cleaning involves wiping the interior and shelves with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and occasionally replacing the activated carbon filter to maintain air quality. The shelves can be removed for thorough cleaning.
