Device intended for heating or boiling water
A water boiler of this type heats water electrically by passing current through a submerged element. The element transfers heat directly to the water, raising its temperature without flame or steam. Because the water is held in a sealed tank, the pressure inside rises slightly, allowing the water to reach higher temperatures than an open kettle can. The process is continuous: cold water enters the tank, is heated, and is drawn off through the tap as needed, while the heater cycles on and off to maintain the set temperature.
To operate, fill the tank through the top opening until the liquid level indicator shows the desired volume. Plug the unit into a 230 V supply; the power indicator light confirms the circuit is live. Set the thermostat to the required temperature between 30 °C and 100 °C. The built-in heater begins to warm the water, and the safety thermostat cuts power if the temperature exceeds the upper limit. Once the water reaches the set temperature, the heater cycles to maintain it. Draw hot water through the drip-proof tap, which prevents spills even when the unit is tilted.
The boiler is constructed from highly polished stainless steel, which resists corrosion and is easy to clean. The tank holds 10 litres, and the external dimensions of 225 mm depth, 460 mm width, and 460 mm height allow it to sit on a worktop without overhang. A scale indicator light warns when limescale build-up may affect performance.
The 2.4 kW power rating means the unit requires a dedicated circuit capable of supplying at least 10 amps. The 230 V voltage matches the standard UK single-phase supply, so no special wiring is needed beyond a correctly rated socket. The temperature range from 30 °C to 100 °C covers everything from warm hand-washing water to boiling water for tea, coffee, or blanching.
Cleaning involves descaling the tank periodically to remove limescale, which the indicator light signals. The drip-proof tap can be wiped down, and the stainless steel exterior polished with a damp cloth. The built-in heater and thermostat are not user-serviceable and should be checked by a qualified technician if faults occur.
The boiler is listed in the Stalgast catalogue under percolators and hot-water appliances for professional catering use.
