A transparent polycarbonate lid seals 5-compartment food trays, shielding meals from dust, spills and airborne particles while they are stored, transported or displayed. The cover sits directly on the tray, creating a closed space above each compartment so that food stays separate and uncontaminated until it reaches the consumer.

The lid is shaped to match the tray's five sections: two generous areas for main courses, two smaller ones for desserts, bread or fruit, and a central rectangular slot designed to hold cutlery. This layout keeps portions organised and prevents flavours or liquids from migrating between dishes. Because the material is rigid and clear, staff can quickly check contents without lifting the cover, saving time during service.

When trays are stacked, the lid's polypropylene construction distributes weight evenly across the compartments, reducing the risk of cracking or warping. The same material also allows the lid to be used as a shallow tray on its own, offering an extra surface for light items such as bread rolls or garnishes.

Operating temperature spans from -40 °C to +99 °C, so the lid remains stable in refrigerated storage, hot-holding cabinets or ambient display. The dimensions of 370 mm by 334 mm by 43 mm ensure a precise fit on standard 5-compartment trays, leaving no gaps around the edges.

Cleaning follows from the smooth, non-porous surface: warm water and mild detergent remove food residue, and the lid can be sanitised alongside the tray in commercial dishwashers or sinks. No additional parts or disassembly are required.
