A tongs spatula built for turning and lifting food without damaging non-stick surfaces. The two arms open and close with a spring-loaded hinge, giving a secure grip on meat, fish, pancakes or vegetables while keeping the operator's hands clear of the heat. The design spreads the load across the food, so thin items such as omelettes or crepes stay intact when flipped or transferred to a plate.

The spatula is held by the handle and positioned over the food; the arms are squeezed together to grasp the item, then lifted and moved. When the food is in place, the arms are released to deposit it gently. The 350 mm length keeps the user's hands well back from hot pans and grills, reducing the risk of burns in a busy kitchen.

The head and arms are moulded in glass fibre-reinforced plastic, a material that remains rigid under repeated use and resists the temperatures reached in frying and grilling.
