Complete with: 1 cooling insert
A serving case keeps prepared dishes at safe holding temperatures while presenting them to diners on a buffet line. The unit does not generate heat or cold; instead it relies on a separate cooling insert that is chilled beforehand and placed inside the case. The polycarbonate Roll-Top cover slides open to 90° so staff can replenish or serve without lifting the entire lid, reducing heat loss and maintaining food hygiene.
To use the case, the operator first chills or heats the cooling insert in a refrigerator or hot cupboard. The insert is then placed inside the black polycarbonate container, and the GN 1/1 stainless-steel tray is set on top. Dishes are arranged on the tray, and the Roll-Top cover is closed. During service the cover is opened only as far as needed, keeping the remaining food protected while allowing diners or staff to serve themselves.
The case is built around a black polycarbonate container that holds the cooling insert and supports the GN 1/1 tray. A Roll-Top polycarbonate cover is mounted on rails so it can be opened to 90° and closed again without removing it. The stainless-steel GN 1/1 tray provides a standardised serving surface that matches gastronorm containers used elsewhere in the kitchen.
Controls are limited to the sliding mechanism of the Roll-Top cover; there are no knobs, timers or thermostats. The 530 mm length, 325 mm width and 240 mm height create a footprint that fits on most buffet counters or worktops without crowding adjacent equipment. The case itself is light enough to be moved by one person when empty, making it practical for temporary set-ups or events.
Cleaning follows from the materials: the stainless-steel tray and polycarbonate parts can be washed in a commercial dishwasher or by hand with standard kitchen detergents. The cooling insert should be wiped with a damp cloth and never submerged. A separate polycarbonate lid is available for storage when the Roll-Top cover is not in use.
The Serving Case GN 1/1 is listed in the Stalgast catalogue under buffet and display equipment, alongside other gastronorm-compatible serving solutions.
