A thermo-hygrometer measures the two factors that shape food safety and storage life: air temperature and relative humidity. The sensor inside reacts to changes in both, displaying them on a single screen so the operator sees the full climate at a glance. Temperature affects how quickly bacteria multiply, while humidity determines whether dry goods absorb moisture or fresh produce loses it. Together, they set the shelf life of ingredients and the risk of spoilage in a professional kitchen.
The unit is hung on a wall or shelf bracket where it samples the surrounding air continuously. No power switch is needed; once the battery is inserted, the display updates automatically. The operator checks the readings during routine rounds, adjusting refrigeration, ventilation or storage conditions as needed. No programming or calibration is required for basic use.
The Stalgast 620310 is constructed as a single plastic housing with a clear front panel. The display shows temperature in degrees Celsius and humidity as a percentage. A single battery compartment at the rear accepts one AAA cell, which is not supplied with the unit.
The temperature range of 0 to 50 °C covers the entire span from chilled storage to ambient kitchen conditions. The humidity range of 25 to 95% extends from dry environments where flour and sugar are kept to humid ones where fresh herbs and salads are stored. The unit's ability to be hung keeps it off worktops and out of the way while still being visible.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the plastic housing with a damp cloth; no water should enter the battery compartment or the sensor behind the display. The unit is sold as a single variant without accessories or options.
