Electric marmite for sauce with water bath. Capacity 2 x 7,5 liters
A marmite bain-marie keeps sauces, soups and liquids at serving temperature without scorching. The appliance holds water in a heated base; the two stainless-steel vats sit in this water bath. Heat transfers from the element through the water to the vats, warming the contents evenly and gently. This indirect method prevents hot spots and keeps delicate mixtures stable for hours.
To use the bain-marie, fill the base with water up to the marked level. Place the vats in the water and add the food. Set the thermostat between 50 °C and 90 °C; the element cycles on and off to hold the chosen temperature. A red pilot light shows when the unit is heating. When the food is ready to serve, lift the vats out; a drain tap empties the base for cleaning.
The unit is built of stainless steel throughout, including the vats and their lids. A single control knob adjusts the thermostat, giving precise temperature selection within the stated range. The 1.6 kW power rating means the appliance draws a modest load on a standard 230 V circuit, suitable for most kitchen ring mains. The 13.5 kg weight allows one person to move the bain-marie with a trolley or sack truck. Its footprint of 310 mm depth, 675 mm width and 350 mm height fits on a standard worktop or shelf.
Cleaning is straightforward: wash the vats and lids in hot soapy water or a dishwasher; wipe the base and exterior with a damp cloth. The drain tap removes water quickly, preventing scale build-up if the unit is left empty.
The model is supplied as a complete unit with two 7.5 L vats and lids. It is listed in the Casselin catalogue under counter-top bain-maries.
