A safety thermostat is a fail-safe device that monitors temperature in catering equipment, cutting power if the unit overheats. Unlike a control thermostat, which regulates cooking or holding temperatures, a safety thermostat acts only when a preset limit is exceeded. It prevents damage to the appliance and reduces fire risk by interrupting the electrical supply before dangerous temperatures are reached.
This Stalgast safety thermostat is calibrated to trip at 100 °C. When the sensor detects that temperature, it opens the circuit, stopping the heating element or burner immediately. The appliance remains off until the thermostat is manually reset, ensuring the operator inspects the cause of the overheat before restarting.
Installation follows the existing wiring of the appliance, typically in series with the main control circuit. The thermostat mounts inside the equipment, where its sensor is exposed to the heated air or surface. Once fitted, it requires no routine adjustment; its fixed set point provides continuous, passive protection.
The unit is a direct replacement part for compatible Stalgast catering appliances. It is constructed to withstand the thermal cycles and humidity of a professional kitchen environment, maintaining reliable operation over repeated heating and cooling cycles.
Cleaning is limited to external inspection during routine appliance maintenance. The thermostat itself is not user-serviceable; if it trips repeatedly, the appliance should be checked for faults such as blocked airflow, failed fans or faulty control thermostats.
This safety thermostat is categorised under spare parts for temperature control in the Stalgast professional equipment range.
