A replaceable water filter that removes limescale, chlorine and impurities from mains water to protect catering equipment and improve water quality.

Water filters of this type work by passing water through a cartridge packed with specialised media. As the water flows, the media chemically binds dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium that form limescale, while activated carbon adsorbs chlorine, organic compounds and heavy metals. The result is water that leaves no scale in kettles, combi ovens or coffee machines and tastes neutral, without the metallic or chemical notes that can spoil beverages and ice.

The operator installs the filter in-line on the water supply to the equipment it protects. Once fitted, the filter requires no further adjustment; it treats every litre that flows through until the cartridge reaches its capacity. A transparent housing or a pressure gauge on the system shows when the filter is approaching exhaustion and needs replacement.

The Purity C500 is built in a square polypropylene housing with push-fit connections. The compact 149 mm width and depth allow it to fit inside a standard under-counter cupboard or mounted on a wall near the appliance it serves.

The filter reduces carbonate hardness, binds lead and copper ions, removes residual chlorine and reduces turbidity and organic impurities. Each filter treats up to 5889 litres of water, a volume that matches the daily consumption of a busy café or small restaurant.

Cleaning and upkeep are limited to replacing the cartridge once the stated capacity is reached. No back-flushing or regeneration is required.
