A serving trolley creates a mobile workstation that moves with the flow of service. Instead of carrying plates, trays or ingredients across the kitchen or dining area, the trolley rolls on castors, bringing everything within arm's reach. The flat shelves hold items at a comfortable working height, while the brakes lock the unit in place when stationary. This arrangement keeps hands free, reduces trips and speeds up plating or clearing during peak service.
The operator loads the shelves with food, crockery or utensils, then wheels the trolley to the required position. Once in place, the two braked castors are engaged to prevent rolling. The 290 mm spacing between shelves allows tall items such as stacked plates, trolleys of glasses or bulk containers to stand upright without touching the shelf above. When service is complete, the trolley is emptied, cleaned and stored until the next use.
Construction is durable plastic, chosen for resistance to moisture, stains and frequent cleaning. The work area measures 620 by 420 mm, providing enough space for a standard gastronorm tray or multiple smaller items. Four swivel castors allow the trolley to turn in tight spaces, while the two braked castors secure it during use.
The 860 mm length, 425 mm width and 910 mm height create a compact footprint that fits through standard doorways and alongside worktops. The 910 mm height places the top shelf at a comfortable working level for most operators, reducing bending or reaching.
Cleaning involves wiping the plastic shelves with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The smooth surfaces prevent food debris from sticking, and the open design allows easy access to all areas. The castors should be checked periodically for smooth rotation and the brakes tested to ensure they hold securely.
The Stalgast Serving Trolley 3P is categorised as a mobile service and storage solution for professional catering environments.
