A sifting cup separates dry ingredients by particle size, letting flour, cocoa or baking powder pass through a fine mesh while trapping lumps and foreign matter. The cup holds the ingredient above the mesh; the operator shakes or taps the cup so the fine particles fall through and the coarse residue stays inside. This method gives a smooth, aerated mixture that blends evenly into batters and doughs without streaks or clumps.
To use the cup, the operator fills it with the dry ingredient, places it over a bowl or directly into the mixing vessel, and shakes it in a steady rhythm. The mesh at the base allows only the desired particle size to pass, leaving larger pieces behind. The process continues until the cup is empty or the residue is too coarse to sift further.
The cup is formed from a single piece of stainless steel, with a seamless rim and a mesh base welded in place. Stainless steel resists corrosion from moisture and acids in ingredients, and does not impart any flavour or odour to the food.
The 120 mm diameter gives a wide surface for sifting larger quantities at once, while the 130 mm height keeps the cup stable on the worktop and allows a generous fill without spilling. The size suits frequent use in bakeries, patisseries and central production kitchens where dry ingredients are measured and mixed in bulk.
Cleaning follows from the construction: the mesh is brushed free of residue after each use, and the cup is washed in hot water with detergent, rinsed and dried. The seamless interior and welded base prevent trapped food particles and make sanitising straightforward.
The product is listed in the Stalgast catalogue under Dry Ingredient Preparation.
