An O-ring creates a watertight or steam-tight seal between two mating surfaces in commercial catering equipment. The operator replaces the O-ring when a leak appears or during scheduled maintenance. The old ring is removed from its groove, the surfaces are cleaned, and the new ring is pressed into place without twisting. Once the joint is reassembled, the seal is tested by running the machine through a cycle; no further adjustment is needed.

This O-ring is made from EPDM rubber, a synthetic elastomer that remains flexible across a wide temperature range and resists degradation from water, steam and alkaline detergents. The cross-section is 1.78 mm thick, giving enough compression to seal without excessive force, while the internal diameter of 12.42 mm matches the standard groove found in the listed equipment.

The 1.78 mm thickness determines the compression ratio when the joint is tightened, ensuring a reliable seal without distorting the ring. The 12.42 mm internal diameter fits the shaft or port size used in the specified dishwashers and coffee machines, allowing it to sit snugly in the groove without stretching or bunching.

Cleaning is limited to wiping the ring with a damp cloth before installation to remove any dust or grease. No lubrication is required; EPDM remains slip-resistant when dry, preventing the ring from rolling out of its groove during operation.
