A level glass provides a direct view of the water level inside a professional espresso machine. The transparent tube sits vertically on the boiler or reservoir, allowing the operator to see the actual water height without opening the unit. This visual check prevents overfilling and ensures the machine always has enough water for the next extraction cycle.
The glass tube is sealed at both ends with gaskets and held in place by metal clips or threaded collars. As the water level inside the boiler rises and falls, the same level appears in the glass, giving an instant reading regardless of pressure or temperature changes.
To use the level glass, the operator simply glances at the tube while the machine is running. No tools or adjustments are needed; the water level is visible through the clear glass. If the level drops below the minimum mark, the operator tops up the reservoir or boiler before the machine runs dry.
This replacement level glass is made of borosilicate glass, chosen for its resistance to thermal shock and chemical corrosion. The tube measures 11 mm in diameter and 140 mm in length, matching the sight gauge port on the specified espresso machines.
The glass fits a range of professional espresso machines, including BFC models such as Classica, Delux, Galileo, Grandoge, Imola, Junior, La Vittoria, Lira, Maranello, Monza, Opera and Perfetta. It is also compatible with Expobar machines including EB61, Expresso and New Elegance, the Royal Synchro, and Vibiemme models including Cubo, Dosaplus, Evolution, Kometa, Mercury, Minimax, Replica, Revolution and Silver.
Cleaning is straightforward: wipe the outside of the glass with a damp cloth to remove coffee splashes or steam residue. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface and reduce visibility. If the glass becomes cloudy or cracked, it should be replaced to maintain an accurate water-level reading.
