Knob, fi Stalgast C011161

A control knob for Stalgast Fi series gas appliances, this replacement part restores precise flame adjustment to hobs and grills. Gas equipment of this type uses a rotary knob to open and close the valve that meters fuel to the burner. Turning the knob moves an internal cam or spindle, which presses against a spring-loaded valve seat. As the valve lifts, gas flows through the orifice and into the burner, where it mixes with air and ignites. The further the knob is turned, the wider the valve opens and the higher the flame rises. The knob's position is the only setting the operator controls, so its grip and markings must be clear and durable to maintain consistent cooking temperatures.

To replace the knob, the operator first isolates the gas supply and allows the appliance to cool. The old knob is pulled straight off its splined shaft, taking care not to bend the shaft. The new knob is aligned with the splines and pressed firmly into place until it seats fully. Once the gas is restored, the operator turns the knob to the minimum position, ignites the burner, then adjusts the flame to the required level. The knob should turn smoothly through its full range without sticking or excessive play.

The knob is a single moulded component designed to fit the standardised spline pattern used across the Stalgast Fi series. It carries no additional controls or indicators, so its only function is to transmit the operator's input to the gas valve.

This part is compatible with Stalgast Fi series gas hobs, grills and other appliances that use the same knob and spline configuration. It is listed in the catalogue under Gas Appliance Spares, Control Components.
