A cooker hood of this type draws steam, smoke and airborne grease away from the hob by pulling air through a powerful fan housed in a sealed chamber. The fan creates negative pressure above the cooking surface, forcing the contaminated air into the hood where it is filtered and then expelled through ducting. This continuous extraction prevents heat and odours from spreading into the kitchen, maintains a clearer atmosphere for staff and reduces the build-up of grease on surfaces and equipment.
The operator positions the hood directly above the cooking area at the height specified for the installation. Once the unit is powered on, the electronic control panel allows the fan speed to be set; the integrated light switch activates the LED lighting simultaneously, illuminating the worktop below. A labyrinth filter traps grease particles as the air passes through, while a grease tray beneath collects any residue that drains from the filter. The tray is fitted with a stub pipe to direct collected liquid into a container, simplifying disposal.
Construction consists of a sealed exhaust chamber designed to prevent leaks, with a 250 mm diameter tube stub for connection to external ducting. The hood measures 1200 mm in width, 900 mm in depth and 450 mm in height, providing coverage for a large cooking range. The 420 W fan motor delivers an airflow capacity of up to 1300 cubic metres per hour, suitable for high-output cooking environments. The voltage requirement of 200 V indicates the unit is intended for a three-phase electrical supply, which is standard in commercial kitchens for appliances of this power rating.
The LED lighting is rated IP65, meaning it is protected against low-pressure water jets and dust ingress, allowing safe cleaning with a damp cloth. The labyrinth filter and grease tray are removable for regular maintenance; the filter should be washed or replaced according to usage, while the tray requires emptying and cleaning to prevent overflow and maintain hygiene. The tight construction of the exhaust chamber ensures that all extracted air is directed through the ducting, minimising the risk of leaks that could compromise kitchen air quality.
This model is supplied with a labyrinth filter and grease tray as standard. The 250 mm tube stub is compatible with standard commercial ducting systems, facilitating straightforward installation in most professional kitchen setups.
